Friday 18th March

Yesterday Year 5 attended a 'Show Racism the Red Card' campaign held at BFC.

The day started with a stadium tour of Turf Moor where the children learnt about the history of Burnley Football club.

After that, the children attended a workshop aimed at educating them about homophobia, transphobia and biphobia. They were able to ask any questions they may have surrounding these topics whilst also learning more about the terms.

Next they attended a workshop aimed at tackling racism. Again the children were encouraged to discuss their opinions and concerns surrounding racism. They were also taught more about the impacts surrounding racism.

Finally the children attended a Q & A session with 3 BFC players (Freddie Ulvestad,Tendayi Darikwa and James Tarkowski). During this children were able to ask the players any questions they had for them surrounding the issues covered during the day. Luke was awarded a prize for his question as it was voted one of the best questions.
